Born in Siguiri (Guinea Conakry), on the border of Mali, on the bank of the river Niger, NAKANY KANTE arrived in Barcelona at eighteen and began working with African bands from Catalonia until she formed her own band with musicians from here and there. She created her own style, combining the traditional Mandingo music of her country and other African rhythms with Mediterranean reggae.
