Jose Antonio Martin, known as SALAO, is one of the great revelations of flamenco in Catalonia; unique in his tessitura and outstanding for his creativity. He is the latest jewel of Catalan flamenco, a discreet and shy singer-songwriter who has fascinated specialists and aficionados. Accompanied in rhythm by guitarist José Andrés Cortés –Bordón Minero 2009 prize at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas (la Unión, Murcia)–, his performance in Vic will be an excellent opportunity to discover a performer who it is said sings in such a flamenco, transcendental way that all the cante (singing) done so far has become outdated; an opportunity to hear his first album recorded with the production of Juan Gómez 'Chicuelo' and David Cerraduela.
