The composer, musician, singer, actress and multidisciplinary artist, Maika Makovski presents her latest work, Chinook Wind (Warner, 2016), an album recorded in Bristol, where she once again had the opportunity of working with John Parish, in a very bare, stark production, dominated by string arrangements and metals enveloping her voice, with songs she composed on her return from a trip to Macedonia. Her many travels and residences in different countries, her intuitive capacity and exuberant personality and partnerships with various branches of art allow her to create complex and authentic moving works. The impressive power of her songs is the only true key to understanding the strength of her work. With Chinook Wind she initiates an unusual partnership with the quartet - classic, but of punk spirit - QUARTET BROSSA, with whom she will face her live presentation in beautiful, spectacular and valiant format.
