MOH! KOUYATÉ

Guinean singer and guitarist KOUYATÉ has toured stages around half the world like Fatoumata Diawara and Corey Harris. She participated in the recording of Martin Scorsese's documentary From Mali to Mississippi alongside Ali Farka Touré. The music of MOH! KOUYATÉ! is inspired by tradition and by pop. Combining Mandingo, afrobeat and funk, and singing in Susu, Mandingo, Fula or French, MOH! speaks of happiness, of exile, life in Guinea, struggle and of hope. On her new album, Loundo (Foli Son / L'Autre Distribution, 2015), the griot singer, descendant of griots, goes back to her roots and remembers the nights of Conakry and the blues of Robert Johnson. Among the guests we find Piers Faccini and Vincent Ségal.
