A CONTRA BLUES come back fighting with their latest work, Jab (self-published, 2019), an album that shows the maturity of the band where the group recovers its most significant influences. The leitmotif is clear: rock-and-roll. They composed it in just over a month and recorded it at Medusa Estudio Barcelona. Jab gives us a raw, direct, hot and, at times, wild sound. We find classic reminiscences, as in the guitars of Magic Sam, Jerry Reed and Bo Diddley, the aroma of legendary bands, like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Little Feat, The Sonics or The Allman Brothers Band, and touches of sounds like those of Chris Isaak or Ben Harper. All this is Jab, a straight punch that can leave anyone out of combat.
